Multiracial is pretty

Wow! This thread has drawn some controversies (I got so many e-mails!). Now, after studying Ethnicity and Migrations at my univ I would not have written it in this way, but I'm leaving it here for future reference.

Six models, six different combinations. Although Latino/Hispanic is not a separate race, I treated it here as a fourth one.

Devon Aoki: Asian/Caucasian (Japanese, German, English, American)

Juliana Imai: Asian/Caucasian (Japanese, Portuguese)

Aline Nakashima: Asian/Caucasian/Latino (Japanese, Portuguese, Brazilian)

Adriana Lima: Latino/Caucasian/African (Brazilian, French, Portuguese, American, unknown African nationality)

Miranda Kerr: Caucasian/Asian (Australian, Serbian, Iranian, Turkish, Filipino)

  3. Bruna Tenorio is not asian!
From a Brazilian website (it's in Portuguese) http://www.rfi.fr/actubr/articles/084/article_10135.asp
I'll translate it says that at first glance she may appear oriental but she really of indigenous descent.

wikipedia it says the same thing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruna_Ten%C3%B3rio and the fashionmodel directory has been corrected http://www.fashionmodeldirectory.com/models/bruna_ten%F3rio/

so she is really Mestiço/mestizo (european mixed amerindian)

  4. thanks so much! i always use fashionmodeldirectory and still at some websites you can find the information, that she's mixed (like for example this one http://www.bellazon.org/bruna_tenorio.html). besides i'm pretty sure i've read somewhere that it is her mother who is chinese/japanese mixed in the family.

    thanks once more:)

  6. Bruna Tenorio is not Asian!
everyone keep quoting the same wrong line.
She has stated several times that her mother has native american ancestry and that's why many assume she is part Asian. People need to stop writng stuff without a good source.

  7. I'm so Tired of repeating myself Latino is NOT a Race not even a REAL Ethnicity. ANYONE & I mean Anyone can use the word Latino as an "ethnicity" but any smart person would know it's only used in the sense of someone's languange and cultural upbringing not much to do with race. It's a Culture!!!So you see anyone can be Latino any race any color anyone. Latino has no basis in a person's phenotypes/blood or genetic characteristics.

The only Real Race/Ethnicity in the American Continent are:
    white/caucasian
    black/African(negroid)
    asians
    Native-American Indians/amerindians

you're one of these or a mix of these

I have to say that Amerindians are the Most misrepresented people in the entire World it's sad. So if you'll be so kind to replace Lima's so called Latino race to Amerindian(this word is short for Native-American indians)

Take for example another Brazilian supermodel Caroline Ribeiro her race/ethnicity is: Caucasian/Amerindian (Portuguese, Amazonian Indian)

  9. Why did you call Adriana Lima Latino? Because she's Brazilian? Brazilians are NOT latino, latinos are SPANISH SPEAKING coutries outside of Spain, Brazil speaks Portuguese. These countries don't even have to be in Latin America, example Puerto Ricans are Latinos but are not from Latin America. That's like saying someone from French Guiana is Latino when they are not.

  10. Did you even checked up wikipedia before commenting? You are using US definition of this word, where Latino = Hispanic. Latinos are habitants/descendants of habitants of Latin America, which includes Brazil, as well as French Guiana, because Portuguese and French have Latin roots.

Plus I mean LOOKS, not nationality...

  11. Actually, multiracial looks . . . bland. Most mixed-race people (like non-whites) only come in black-and-brown. It's depressing after a while. One of the reasons why I support White Nationalism. :)

  13. latino means "latin" not necessarily spanish..portuguese can be "latino: but not "hispanic" becasue hispanic refers to spanish-speaking people

  14. Actually, except for Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima, all of the examples you presented are either weird-looking, meh, or just downright plain. Racially mixed people are way overrated, and sans the careful posing and Photoshop, most race-mixed celebrites look unimpressive. Of note, Asian admixture tends to destroy the beauty of European eyes - just look at the plain peepers on Aline Nakashima and Juliana Imai (I suggest doing on image search on them since the carefully posed photos you posted disguises the real deal). I've seen more beautiful White girls working at the gas station.
